This treatment entails removing one or more microscopic kidney samples for examination under specialized microscopes.
Preparation
Following preparation needs to be done for performing the kidney biopsy in India.
Four hours of fasting must have passed before the operation.
It is important to take steps to keep your blood pressure within normal ranges.
The doctor must be informed of any medicine you are taking at the moment. If you are taking any blood thinners that need to be stopped at least 5 to 7 days before the surgery, please let the doctor know.
Eat a quick breakfast in the morning before the surgery.
Before the test, you are required to have blood tests for both partial prothrombin time (APTT) and prothrombin time (PT).
During procedure

This 15-20 minute technique involves a US guided gunshot kidney biopsy.
The procedure is done from the back.
Your privacy is preserved throughout the process while you are relaxed in a private space. To change into, a hospital gown will be provided.
The region of the biopsy, which is often the lower back, is given local anaesthesia.
This procedure is used in daycare. You will hear a noise that sounds like a gunshot during the operation.
To ensure that the sample is taken on the first try, you must remain completely still and motionless during the operation.
A Dynaplast dressing is applied following the treatment. For the first two hours following the surgery, you must remain motionless while lying on your back.

Post Procedure
The following points should be considered after the treatment procedure:
Following the biopsy, you will be watched for six hours, or until the evening. If you are stable, you will be let go. You might need to stay overnight if any post-biopsy observations are required.
After 24 hours, the Dynaplast dressing can be removed, ideally after a bath.
Following the treatment, you must be in bed for 24 hours.
Follow the renal diet that has been prescribed.
Take note of any haematuria (presence of blood in the urine). If you experience haemorrhage in your urine, call your doctor right away.
4-5 working days will pass before the report is released.
