Liver Scan

Liver Scan Test in India

This diagnostic procedure is performed to take a closer look at the liver and spleen to identify any abnormalities. The procedure involves a radioactive dye or contrast material that is absorbed by the liver, spleen and bone marrow. A scan is then done to identify where the radioactive elements have collected, producing an image of dense radioactivity (hot spots) and minimal radioactivity (cold spots). Liver scans are completely safe with a negligible risk from exposure to radioactive elements.
