Swap Kidney Transplantations in India

Swap Kidney transplantations
A paired kidney exchange, also known as a ‘kidney swap occurs when a living kidney donor is incompatible with the recipient, and exchanges kidneys with another donor/recipient pair. This means two live donor transplants would occur simultaneously. Swap transplant typically involves an exchange of organs between two families, who cannot donate the organ to their own family member because of blood group mismatch. Nephrologists believe that this would minimize the shortfall of kidneys and enable the increase of transplant numbers legally.
